The Flex Pile is a free app for scanning, valuing, and showing off your Pokémon, Magic, and Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Here are answers to the most common questions — and how to reach a human if you're stuck.

Need a hand? Email us at support@theflexpile.com and we'll get back to you. Tell us your device, and what you were doing when something went wrong — it helps us fix it faster.

What cards does it work with?

Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, and Yu-Gi-Oh. Snap a photo of a card and The Flex Pile identifies it and values it at the current market price.

How does scanning work?

In the iPhone app, you take a photo (or pick one from your library) and Apple Vision reads the card text entirely on your device. The photo is not sent to Google or another AI provider for identification. FlexPile sends the recognized name and collector number to our catalog, then looks up the current market price from public trading-card databases. Your compressed photo is uploaded only if you add the card to your private pile. On the web, use Manual search.

Are my cards public?

Only if you leave sharing switched on. Every scan ends on a screen with a Share to the Flex feed switch that starts turned on, so by default a saved card appears in the feed right away — other signed-in collectors see your handle, card photo, card identity, and estimated value. Turn the switch off before you save and the card stays private to you; we remember that choice for your next scans. Either way you can share or un-share any card later by opening it in your pile, and removing a card from the feed never removes it from your pile.

How are card values decided?

Prices come from public databases — Scryfall (Magic), the Pokémon TCG API (Pokémon), and YGOPRODeck (Yu-Gi-Oh) — and are refreshed on a schedule. When a source provides separate prices for finishes such as foil, reverse-holo, or etched, the app uses the finish you own. Prices are set on our servers so they can't be changed by the app. Card condition adjusts the value downward from Near Mint. For now, graded (slabbed) cards are valued at their ungraded market price and labeled accordingly; real grade premiums are on the way.

Is it really free?

Yes. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no ads, and we never sell your data. The Flex Pile is about glory, not money.

How do duels work?

Build a hand of seven cards and battle another collector, best of seven — you play one card each round and the higher battle score wins the round. Practice instantly against the CPU or search for a ranked opponent. Duels are for in-app glory only — there's no real money or wagering.

How do I delete my account?

Tap the Account icon in the top-right corner, then tap Delete account. This immediately and permanently erases your profile, your posts, your card photos, your scores, and your rank. It cannot be undone.

Prefer email? Write to support@theflexpile.com from your account's email address and we'll take care of it.

How do I report or block someone?

Open the Flex feed and tap the ••• button beside another collector's post. You can report the post for review or block that collector immediately. Manage blocked accounts from Account → Blocked users.

How is my data handled?

We collect your email and the card photos you scan, and we never sell your data or run ads. The full details are in our Privacy Policy.

I found a bug or have an idea

We'd love to hear it. Email support@theflexpile.com — this is a small, independent app and real feedback genuinely shapes what we build next.
